> Utah (4-3, 2-1 MWC) plays a Thursday game against New Mexico (3-4, 1-2 MWC) in Albuquerque. Game time is 7 p.m. in University Stadium. The game will be televised by the mtn., which is Channel 37 on the dial in Salt Lake City. It can also be heard on Sports Radio 700 the Zone and Sirius Satellite Radio.
> Utah's defense has forced 20 turnovers, which is tied for No. 1 in the nation with Pittsburgh and Baylor.
> Although Utah leads the series with the Lobos 29-16-2, New Mexico is one of just two MWC teams with a winning record against the Utes since 2000. Utah is 2-4 against both UNM and CSU since 2000, while compiling a 25-9 mark against the six other league teams in that span.
> Utah is 2-2 on the road this season, beating Utah State (48-0) and San Diego State (38-7), and losing to UCLA (31-10) and Wyoming (31-15).
> Ute defensive back Eric Weddle has been named a Midseason All-American by SI.com (Sports Illustrated), CBSSportsline.com and Collegefootballnews.com. SI.com lists Weddle as the "nation's premier cover corner." He is also touted as the No. 6-ranked player in ESPN.com's "Midseason Hot 100." Number 1 on ESPN.com's Hot 100 list is Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson, who Weddle held to just two receptions for 19 yards in last year's Emerald Bowl. Numbers of note for Weddle include 33 tackles, six interceptions and four touchdowns (2 on interception returns, one on a rush and one on a fumble return).
