> Utah (0-0, 0-0 MWC) opens its 2006 season against UCLA (0-0, 0-0 Pacific 10) on Saturday, Sept. 2 in Los Angeles. Game time is 4 p.m. PDT (5 p.m. MDT). The Utah ticket office has sold over 5,500 tickets to the game, which will be played in the Rose Bowl.
> The game will be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net--Utah's first appearance on FSN. Utah is 40-19-2 all-time on network television.
> Utah received 52 votes in the preseason Associated Press poll--second of the Others Receiving Votes and No. 27 overall. The Utes were No. 28 in the USA Today poll with 84 votes.
> Utah has won its last four games against Pac-10 opponents and is 5-2 against the Pac-10 in the last five years. Wins were over USC (2001), California (2003), Oregon (2003) and Arizona (2004-05). Losses were to Oregon (2001) and Arizona (2002).
> Utah is 4-0 in bowl games since 2001, beating USC in the 2001 Las Vegas Bowl, Southern Miss in the 2003 Liberty Bowl, Pittsburgh in the 2005 (2004 season) Fiesta Bowl and Georgia Tech in the 2005 Emerald Bowl.
