The Mountain West Conference media voted four Utes on to the 2007 MWC preseason all-conference football team and projected a third-place league finish for Utah this coming season. The polls were released at the annual MWC Football Preview in Las Vegas, Nev., on July 23.
Place kicker Louie Sakoda, quarterback Brian Johnson, and offensive linemen Jason Boone and Robert Conley were named to the preseason team. Sakoda, Johnson and Conley are juniors while Boone is a senior. Sakoda, who is also Utah's starting punter and the reigning MWC co-Special Teams Player of the Year, was picked as the preseason MWC Special Teams Player of the Year.
