Week two of Utah's fall camp will begin with a double practice session on Monday. Other two-a-days are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday. The Utes will scrimmage on Tuesday and Saturday starting at 8:45 a.m. in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Tight end Neli A'asa is expected to miss another 7-10 days of practice while rehabilitating from a knee scope on Aug. 6 ... A heated battle is being waged at left guard, where senior Corey Seiuli and sophomore Caleb Schlauderaff remain locked in a co-starting role after the first week of camp ... Another tight race is at running back, where both Darrell Mack and Matt Asiata are performing well. Asiata rolled his ankle on Saturday but should be back in action early in this week ... Living up to his billing at wide receiver is JC transfer David Reed. Reed rested a strained groin on Friday but is expected to return to play today ... Sophomore Zane Taylor has solidified his hold on the starting job at center ... Freshman defensive end Thor Salanoa broke his hand in practice on Aug. 8 ... Sophomore walk-on Christian Cox has moved up to No. 2 at left end ... Tatum Drecksel has shifted from end to tackle ... Two youngsters playing well at tackle are sophomore Lei Talamaivao and true freshman Sealver Siliga. They are currently two and three on the depth chart behind starting tackle Greg Newman ... Some shuffling at the backup linebacker positions has Chaz Walker playing behind Stevenson Sylvester at rover, Kepa Gaison playing behind Mike Wright at "mac" and Mo Neal sliding over to "stud" behind Nai Fotu ... Deshawn Richard is having a great camp and is pushing the starters at both free and strong safety ... Three corners have separated themselves from the pack: Brice McCain, Sean Smith and R.J. Stanford. Stanford starts at nickel back and is first in line behind corners McCain and Smith in the base 4-3 alignment ... Walk-on linebacker Nate Jones has left the team and has been replaced in the 105 count by walk-on running back Bo Hikila.
