SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah men's tennis team begins its pursuit of a second straight Mountain West Conference championship as it opens the spring season at home Friday against Eastern Washington University. The match will be held at the Eccles Tennis Center beginning at 5 p.m. MT.
"We are very excited to get the season started against a very good Eastern Washington team," said assistant coach Roeland Brateanu. "Hopefully we can follow a good fall season with a good start to our dual match season and gain some early momentum."
Eastern Washington, the defending Big Sky Conference champions, are coming off of a 18-7 year and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
This match is the first action for the Utes since the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. Oct. 15-19.
