SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team (1-0) will host in-state rivals Utah State (0-1) and Weber State (0-1) Monday at the Eccles Tennis Center. The first match will begin at 11 a.m. as the Utes take on the Aggies, followed by a 4 p.m. match against Weber State.
"We hope to build on our win in our home opener and continue the momentum we have against two solid in-state rivals," said assistant coach Roeland Brateanu. "This is another great opportunity for some of our guys to get some valuable match time before we had to Texas for National Indoors qualifying."
Utah State and Weber State both enter Monday's matches with 0-1 records after each fell to BYU last Friday. The Aggies lost to the Cougars by a 7-0 score, while the Wildcats suffered a 6-1 defeat.
Last year, the Utes posed a 6-1 win over the Wildcats and a 7-0 sweep over the Aggies.
The Utes defeated Eastern Washington, 6-1, in their season-opener last Friday.
