SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the 21st annual Oregon Duck Invitational. The Utes finished the first day tied in 12th-place, 39-over-par, with a score of 615 (311, 304).
Leading Utah with a score of 150 (76, 74) at six-over-par is senior Chance Cota tied for 27th-place. Two strokes behind Cota is freshman Kaleb Mahanes tied in 36th-place with a two round combined score of 152 at eight-over-par. Mahanes' second round of 71 was the best round for the Utes today.
Jeff Kitches is tied in 63rd-place at 13-over-par shooting a first round of 80 and a second round of 77 for a total of 157. Chase Hite is tied in 69th-place with a score of 159 (76, 83) at 15-over-par. Finishing out the Utah lineup is Derek Adams tied in 74th-place at 17-over-par with a score of 161 (79, 82).
The team currently in first place is Washington with a score of 581 (285, 296) at five-over-par. In the individual player standings, Jack Dukeminier of Oregon is in first place at two-under-par with a score of 142 (69, 73).
The tournament will continue tomorrow with the final round beginning at 8:30 a.m.
