After holding practices on Tuesday and Thursday (3-5 p.m.), the Utes will hold a scrimmage on Saturday, Apr. 11 starting at 10:45 a.m. in Rice-Eccles Stadium. Spring practices, scrimmages and the Red-White game on April 18 are open to the public.

Offensive guard Neli A'asa had a scope on his left knee on April 6 and will miss the rest of spring ball. Redshirt freshman linebacker Boo Andersen will also miss the rest of camp with a knee injury (no surgery is planned) ... Defensive backs R.J. Stanford (4.3 seconds) and Brandon Burton (4.33) turned in the fastest 40 times in spring tests. Stanford also placed first on the team in the agility drills and jumps (he had a 37.5" vertical jump). The strongest players on the team in the spring tests were defensive tackle Kenape Eliapo (600-pound squat) and redshirt freshman offensive lineman Derek Tuimauga (435-pound bench press) ... Showing well in the first scrimmage on Apr. 4 were quarterbacks Corbin Louks (8-14 for 87 yards and a touchdown) and Terrance Cain (6-11 for 73 yards and 1 TD). Running back Eddie Wide rushed for 94 yards and three receivers had big games: Jereme Brooks (46 yards, 1 TD), DeVonte Christopher (45 yards) and Shaky Smithson (44 yards, 1 TD. Burton returned an interception off Cain 84 yards for a touchdown.
