*High praise was earned by the Utes on day nine of preseason camp, as Coach Kyle Whittingham declared today "our best practice at camp. The whole team stood out. They were getting after it and flying around. The guys had great focus and concentration."
*Halfway through practice junior Corbin Louks switched from a red quarterback jersey to a black defense jersey and could be seen making tackles at safety during 11-on-11 work. "We're giving it a shot right now," Whittingham said. "We talked to him about a future at that position with his speed, athleticism and competitiveness. He's a natural at free safety. It's just in the experiment stage at this point."
*Utah ran through a series of `gassers' at the end of practice. The number of seconds they had to complete the sprint down and back across the field decreased with each series.
*Practice was moved to the indoor facility due to a heavy morning rainstorm moving through the Salt Lake Valley.
*The Utes will take Sunday off before their next two-a-day practice on Monday.
