Cross Country Runners Earn Academic All-MWC Accolades

SALT LAKE CITY - The Mountain West Conference released the list of athletes to earn Fall 2009 Academic All-Conference honors with five University of Utah cross country runners appearing on the list.
Freshman Megan Combe, junior Alexis Davis, Jenny McCune, freshman Amanda Mergaert and senior Sydney Osmun were all honored on the list.
A total of 384 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2009 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
