SALT LAKE CITY - The No. 66th-ranked University of Utah men's tennis team (3-3) will host Weber State (2-4) Friday, Feb. 19. The match will take place at the Eccles Tennis Center beginning at 5 p.m.
"We hope to continue our solid performance from last weekend against in-state rival Weber State," said head coach F.D. Robbins.
Last year the Utes swept the Wildcats in a, 7-0, home victory.
This year Weber State has posted wins against Lewis-Clark State College, 6-1, and Montana State, 4-3. The Wildcats have fallen to ranked opponents No. 60 BYU, 7-0, and No. 29 Boise State, 7-0.
Last weekend Utah swept two home matches, 7-0, against Montana State and Idaho State. Phillip Eilers clinched the match for Utah against Montana State from the No. 1 position defeating Pawel Turzanski, 6-1, 6-2. Stephen Jacobs delivered the clinching point against Idaho State topping Colton Pate, 6-2, 6-2, from the No. 6 spot.
