SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team (1-2) will host UC Santa Barbara (1-2) Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Eccles Tennis Center beginning at 11 a.m.
"We are looking forward to playing a very strong UCSB team and hopefully get back to our winning ways," said head coach F.D. Robbins.
The last time Utah played UCSB at home was April 18, 2008, UCSB defeated Utah, 4-3. Last year the Utes saw the Gachos in Santa Barbara where they were defeated, 5-2.
UC Santa Barbara has faced losses against Hawai'i, 5-2, and USC, 4-3. They captured a win against Saint Mary's, 6-1. The Gachos will see BYU in Provo Saturday, Feb. 6 before playing the Utes.
In their last action Utah traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. In the first round the Utes fell to Tennessee, 7-0, setting them up to play No. 48-ranked VCU in the consolation round. The Utes were defeated, 6-1.
