Dear Tennis Friends,
Great news from the Eccles Tennis Center today. After going winless since February 19, and losing four heartbreakers in the meantime, we finally came up with a close win. We beat a very good and dangerous New Mexico State team 4-3.
I can't tell you how nice it is to be back on the winning side, especially after losing so many close ones. It is a testament to how tough our guys are and how good we can really be. Losing close ones is tough and many teams would have bailed out, but these guys are just hanging in there and it resulted in a very good win for us Friday. We hope to continue our winning ways in conference play starting Thursday!
NEXT UP: Conference play is about to start and unfortunately for us it means we will start the first half of our regular season matches on the road. Here is our schedule for the next two weekends: Thursday April 1 @ New Mexico (1pm) Saturday April 3 @ Air Force Academy (10am) Thursday April 8 @ TCU (6pm) Friday April 9 @ UT Arlington (2pm)
Obviously UT Arlington is not a conference match, but we wanted to schedule another match down in Texas while being there to play TCU. So, a lot of traveling coming our way and our most important part of the season is nearing. It is very good to start that part with a win under our belt and we can approach it as a whole new season.
Of course I will keep you up to date and I hope to see all of you soon again at some home matches.
