Phil Steele Names Utes for Preseason Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Five Utes were named to Phil Steele's 2010 College Football Preview's Preseason all-Mountain West Conference team and one earned preseason All-America recognition.
Center Zane Taylor, offensive guard Caleb Schlauderaff, running back Eddie Wide, defensive tackle Dave Kruger and defensive back Brandon Burton made Phil Steele's preseason all-MWC first team. Taylor, a second-team all-MWC selection a year ago, was selected by the annual football publication as a preseason fourth-team All-American. Wide made the all-MWC first team in 2009, while Schlauderaff joined Taylor on the second team.
Phil Steele selected four teams in its preseason issue, placing running back Matt Asiata and defensive tackle Sealver Siliga on its second team; quarterback Jordan Wynn, receiver Jereme Brooks, offensive linemen Tevita Stevens and Tony Bergstrom, and placekicker Joe Phillips on its third team; and receiver Luke Matthews, linebacker J.J. Williams, defensive end Derrick Shelby and punter Sean Sellwood on its fourth team.
Siliga, Philips and Sellwood were honorable mention all-MWC a year ago.
