While Utah football season ticket holders are renewing their seats at record levels, department officials say there will still be season ticket packages and mini plans available for purchase by the general public starting on July 12.
As of today, 92-percent of the existing Utah season ticket holders had renewed their seats for the 2010 season. In addition, the ticket office is in the process of contacting more than 2,500 season ticket holders who indicated they want to add or improve their existing season tickets.
With premier home games like Pittsburgh, TCU and Brigham Young on the 2010 schedule, fans are encouraged to buy season tickets to assure they will have a seat in Rice-Eccles Stadium, where the crowds have exceeded the seating capacity for the past two seasons.
"The support for our football team by the fans has been incredible," said Zack Lassiter, Utah assistant athletics director over ticket sales. "Demand for our football tickets is at an all-time high, but it's not too late for fans to buy tickets to our games. While we won't know exactly how many tickets will be available until we finish filling the requests from our existing season ticket holders, we do know we will have some tickets left to sell to interested fans starting on July 12."
