Monday signals the final week of Utah's 2010 football camp. Regular season practices begin with the first day of school on Aug. 23. The Utes will hold scrimmages on Tuesday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Aug. 21, with double-day practices scheduled for Monday, Aug. 16, Wednesday, Aug. 18 and Friday, Aug. 20. The Utes will hold a single practice on Thursday, Aug. 19. Practices and scrimmages are closed to the public.INSIDE THE HUDDLE
Playing well is Greg Bird, who has moved into No. 2 at free safety behind Justin Taplin-Ross ... One week after ceding the starting job at left end to Christian Cox, Derrick Shelby is again on equal footing as the co-starter ... Joining the competition to return kickoffs is speedster Reggie Dunn. He is one of five players in the running, although Shaky Smithson and DeVonte Christopher still comprise the No. 1 team.
