Utah won its 19th straight home game with the victory. It is the second-longest home win streak in school history. The school record of 26 was set from 1928-34.
Utah's 19-game home win streak also breaks the Mountain West Conference record. The previous record of 18 was held by BYU (2006-08).
Joe Phillips made a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter. He is 6-of-7 from 40-plus yards in his career. It was also his 12th-straight field goal.
Terrance Cain made his first start of the season at quarterback, going 13-for-20 for 207 yards with two touchdowns. It was his fifth 200-yard game in his career, and the fifth time he has thrown two touchdowns in a game in his career. He is 8-1 in his career as the starting quarterback.
Jordan Wynn did not play due to a thumb sprain.
Shaky Smithson scored his first career receiving touchdown in the second half on a career-long 55-yard catch (his only reception of the game). His previous career-long catch was 24 yards.
Shaky Smithson returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown. It was the seventh-longest punt return in school history. The last time a Utah player returned a punt for a touchdown was Derrek Richards against Utah State in 2007 (75 yards).
Shaky Smithson's two touchdowns (one punt return, one receiving) marked the second two-touchdown game of his career. He also scored two touchdowns against TCU last year.
Jereme Brooks was Utah's leading receiver, making four catches for 77 yards and one touchdown.
Sean Sellwood had a 60-yard punt in the first half. It was his third punt of 60 yards or more. He left the game in the second half with a left ankle injury.
Utah held its opponent without a sack for the second straight week.
Nine players caught passes during the game (Jereme Brooks, Shaky Smithson, Brad Clifford, Matt Asiata, Shawn Asiata, Eddie Wide, Kendrick Moeai, Luke Matthews and DeVonte Christopher).
Eddie Wide scored rushing touchdowns of three yards and 13 yards. It was the fourth multi-touchdown game of his career. He finished with 15 rushes for 77 yards.

Nick Marsh made his first career appearance at punter (three punts, 35.0 average). He downed one punt inside the 20-yard line.
Chaz Walker led Utah in tackles for the second-straight week, posting a career-high 16 stops. Matt Martinez also reached double figures in tackles with 12.
Lamar Chapman had 1.5 sacks for eight yards of losses to lead the Utes. Brian Blechen had a team-high two pass breakups.
