> The Utes remained at No. 13 in the Associated Press poll for a second week, while moving up one place to No. 12 in the USA Today Coaches' poll. It is their highest ranking since the Sugar Bowl champion Utes finished the 2008 season ranked No. 2 in the nation (Associated Press) and No. 4 (coaches).
> Utah is winless against the Cyclones in four previous meetings, all played in the 1970s. For more on the series, see the box on page 2 of this release.
> Utah's bye a year ago was this same weekend, falling on Oct. 3, 2009.
> Utah coach Kyle Whittingham's teams are 5-0 coming off regular season bye weeks, with victories over Wyoming (2005, 2007), Colorado State (2006, 2009) and New Mexico (2008).
