SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team has announced the signing of Ariel Reynolds (Portland, Ore.) to a National Letter of Intent. She is the fourth member of the signing class, joining Danielle Rodriguez (Downey, Calif.), Nakia Arquette (Spokane, Wash.) and Paige Crozon (Humboldt, Saskatchewan).
Reynolds is currently a sophomore at Northwest Florida State College, which finished last year ranked eighth in the NJCAA. At Jefferson High School in Portland, Ore., she was the 2010 5A Player of the Year after averaging 15.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
"Ariel is another in a long line of players from the northwest," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "She is a very gifted and talented athlete who will give us additional length that is needed on the offensive and defensive end of the floor."
Utah is beginning its first season in the Pac-12. The Utes won seven of 12 Mountain West Conference regular season championships from 1999-2011.
