Utah Tennis Hosts Two Matches This Weekend

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team (2-4) prepares to host a pair of matches this weekend at the Eccles Tennis Center. Utah will face Montana State (1-4) Friday, Feb. 18 at 5 p.m., followed by Portland State (3-4) Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.

"We will see if having played two top 20 programs last week has helped us experience-wise for the matches this weekend," said head coach F.D. Robbins.

Last Time vs Montana State: The Utes swept the Bobcats 7-0 in 2010 at the Eccles Tennis Center. Utah did not lose a singles set in singles or doubles play. Phillip Eilers clinched the match for Utah from the top spot, dominating Pawel Turzanski, 6-1, 6-2.

Last Time vs Portland State: The Utes dominated the Vikings 7-0 in 2003, without dropping a single set and sweeping in both singles and doubles play. Mike Bullard topped Colin Gillam, 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 position, earning the Utes the match clincher.
