SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team prepares for The University of Hawaii's 35th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, O'ahu. The three-day tournament will begin Wednesday, Feb. 16 and conclude of Friday, Feb. 18.
The invitational is scheduled to be on the 7,218-yard Arnold Palmer and 6, 535-yard George Fazio courses, both par-72. Wednesday's round will begin at 8:30 a.m., while Thursday's and Friday's rounds will begin at 7:30 a.m. Teams will play a total of 54 holes during the tournament, 18 holes per round.
The Field: Utah will be competing against 15 other teams, including Arizona, BYU, BYU-Hawaii, California, Denver, Fresno State, Hawaii-Hilo, Hawaii-Pacific, Nevada, New Mexico, Southern Methodist, Texas A&M, Texas-El Paso, and Virginia.
Last Time: The Utes posted a three-round score of 871 (285-291-295) at the invite, tying them for fifth place. Freshman Camden Nicholoson led the Utes with an impressive sixth-place finish, shooting a score of 210 (67-69-74). Kaleb Mahanes finished in 18th place with a mark of 216 (71-74-71). Chase Hite's three round total of 222 (74-75-73) tied him for 28th, while Mike Branca tied for 34th place with a mark of 225 (73-73-79). Derek Adams completed the invitational in a tie for 46th place, posting a score of 231 (74-80-77).
