SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team (4-4) hosts No. 48 Denver (2-2), Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Eccles Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
Last Week: Utah dominated a pair of home matches against Montana State, Friday and Portland State, Saturday. After dropping the doubles point during Friday's match, freshman Alejandro Medinilla clinched the 4-3 victory with his 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 defeat of Alberto Fuentes at the No. 3 singles slot.
Utah returned Saturday to the Eccles Tennis Center, blanking Portland State. Freshman Gino Octa earned the match clinching point with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Vetu Mam at the sixth singles spot. The Utes remained strong and swept the Vikings, 7-0.
Last time vs Denver: The Utes hosted No. 60-ranked Denver during the 2007 season, topping the Pioneers, 5-2. Utah secured the doubles point, holding Denver under 5 points per game. Wes Hancock topped Timo Kienle at the No. 3 position, 6-3, 7-5, clinching the match for Utah at 4-1.
