SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team is slated to compete in the San Diego State Barona Collegiate Cup Thursday and Friday. The 54-hole tournament will be held on the par-72, 7,374-yard Barona Creek Golf Club. Teams will cover 36 holes on Thursday, followed by the final 18 on Friday. Play will begin on both days with a 7:30 a.m. PDT shotgun start.
The Field: Sixteen teams will compete in the tournament, including: Arizona, Arkansas State, Colorado, Loyola Marymount, Nevada, New Mexico, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, host San Diego State, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UTEP, Wyoming and Xavier.
This Week: Utah wrapped up play at the University of Arizona National Invitational Tournament Tuesday, taking 12th place with a score of 914 (312-302-300). Senior Derek Adams swung a 223 (76-77-70) to tie for 26th.
Last Time: The Utes participated in the Barona Cup last season, completing the tournament in 12th place with a score of 1,173 (374-396-367). Junior Chase Hite earned his best finish of the season at 5th, swinging a 214 (72-75-67).
