The Utes return home after dropping a 7-0 decision to No. 47 Boise State Saturday at the Appleton Tennis Center. Utah's young talent fought hard but came up just short as freshman Alejandro Medinilla played one of the best singles match from the No. 4 spot, battling to a tight 6-4, 6-4, loss to Andrew Bettles. Fellow freshman Matt Cowley also gave a solid effort, nearly forcing his match into three sets after losing the first set 6-1, but couldn't take the tiebreaker and dropped his second set, 7-6(4) at the No. 2 position.
Last Time vs Idaho State Utah recorded a perfect 7-0 shutout of the Bengals last season, not losing a single set in singles or doubles play. Stephen Jacobs downed Colton Pate, 6-2, 6-2 from the sixth slot, earning the match clinching point.
