NEW YORK, N.Y. -
Utah offensive guard Caleb Schlauderaff was selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Schlauderaff, who was chosen by the defending Super Bowl champs with the 179th overall pick, brings Utah's 2011 draft class to two. Cornerback Brandon Burton was picked in the fifth round by Minnesota.
The last time a Ute offensive lineman was taken in the sixth round was Chris Kemoeatu in 2005. Kemoeatu is now a starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Schlauderaff is the 11th Utah player ever drafted by Green Bay.
Schlauderaff made four All-America teams as a senior last fall, including two second-team citations (Walter Camp, SI.com). He was a third-team A.P. All-American. A 2010 first-team all-Mountain West Conference selection, Schlauderaff was a four-year starter for Utah--playing in 52 games and starting 49. He was a four-time Academic all-MWC selection.
