SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team prepares for the 36th annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, O'ahu. The tournament will take place Wednesday through Friday on the 7,218 yard, par-72 Arnold Palmer Course.
Format
Golfers will play 18 holes each day of the 54-hole tournament, starting each round at 7:30 a.m.
The Field
The 18-team tournament includes five Top 25 nationally ranked teams, including No. 10 California, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 18 Duke, No 19. UNLV and No. 23 New Mexico, as well as BYU, BYU-Hawaii, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Hawaii, Missouri, Nevada, SMU, UH-Hilo, Utah, and UTEP.
Last Time at Burns Intercollegiate
The Utes posted a final mark of 910 (311-311-288) to earn 16th place, while senior Jeff Kitches tied for 46th in individual standings with a score of 222 (75-76-71). Ben Bankhead tied for 72nd with a mark of 229 (80-77-72).
Last Time Out
Utah returns to action after a two-week break. The Utes last competed in the Arizona Intercollegiate, where they tallied a final score of 899 (299-298-302) to tie for 10th while sophomore Daniel Engle led the squad in individual standings, swinging a 214 (70-73-71) to tie for 14th.
