SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team prepares to participate in the Morris Williams Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. The tournament will take place Friday and Saturday at the 7,412 yard, par-71 University of Texas Golf Club.
Format
The 54-hole tournament will begin Friday with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m., for 36 holes of play. The final 18 holes will be played Saturday, with a split-tee start from 8:15-10:03 a.m.
The Field
The 12-team tournament will include College of Charleston, No. 20 New Mexico, No. 44 North Texas, Sam Houston State, St. John's, No. 36 TCU, No. 1 Texas, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 43 Texas Tech, Texas-Arlington, Utah, and No. 47 Wake Forrest.
Last Time Out
The Utes last completed the John Burns Intercollegiate at the Turtle Bay Resort's Arnold Palmer course. The squad placed 17th with a final score of 921 (305-302-314), while freshman Gentry Hicks led the Utes in individual standings, tying for 54th with a mark of 227 (74-74-79).
