SALT LAKE CITY- University of Utah golf team heads to Kahuku, O'ahu, Hawai'i, to compete in the 37th annual John Burns Intercollegiate, Feb. 20-22. The tournament will be played on the par-72, 7,218-yard Palmer Golf Course at Turtle Bay Resort.
Format
One round will be played each day, with a 7:30 a.m. HST shotgun start.
The Field
The Utes will compete in an impressive 15-team field that features four squads ranked in the Top 25. Among them will be defending champion and third-ranked California who captured last year's event with a 17-under 847 (270-286-291). Joining them will be No. 10 Texas A&M, No. 13 UNLV and No. 23 New Mexico, along with Utah's historic rival, BYU.

In 2012 Gentry Hicks, then a freshman, led Utah with a 227 (74-74-79). The team finished 17th with a 921 (305-302-314).
The Utes have a long history at the Burns Intercollegiate, competing in 15 of the last 19 events since 1994. Utah's best result was a 10th-place finish in 2003 as the team shot an even-par 864 (287-286-291).
Last Time Out
The Utes placed 14th at the Arizona Intercollegiate with a 910 (306-295-309), Jan. 28-29. The top Ute was junior Daniel Engle, who posted a 225 (75-70-80).
