SALT LAKE CITY- The University of Utah golf team travels to San Diego, Calif., to compete in the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, March 11-12. The tournament, co-hosted by the University of San Diego and San Diego State, will be played at the par-72, 7,033-yard San Diego Country Club.
Format
The first 36 holes of the tournament will be played on Monday with an 8:30 a.m. PST shotgun start, and the final 18 holes will be completed on Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. PST shotgun start.
The Field
The Utes will face 13 other teams at the Classic, including three teams ranked in the top 30: No. 19 TCU, No. 26 Texas Tech and No. 27 Missouri. Fellow Pac-12 schools Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon State will also take to the greens. Washington, who won last year's Classic with a six-over par 870 (284-299-287), will not be competing in this year's event.
Last Time Out
Sophomore Gentry Hicks was the low Ute at last week's Lexus Classic, shooting a three-over 219 (76-72-71), tying for 35th.
