Utah's Hamza Advances at Futures Event

COSTA MESA, Calif. - Utah men's tennis standout Slim Hamza advanced through the qualifying draw at the F24 USA Futures Event at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center this evening; The junior advances to the fourth round of competition at the event.

Despite dropping the first set, 4-6, Hamza rallied to defeat second-seeded Sahak Bazrganian 7-5, 6-4 in the second and third sets. The Ute will face Eduardo Nava Monday in the fourth round.

Senior Ben Tasevac was unable to come up with a victory in his match against USC's Michael Grant and fell 6-2, 6-1. Junior Cedric Willems also dropped his match, 6-2, 6-2, to Logan Smith.
