? The Utes were in full pads for their second practice of the week at Rice-Eccles Stadium with no tackling, ball carriers were downed after being touched.
? Utah focused on assignments in the run game on both sides of the ball, execution of field goals and kickoffs, while continuing to improve offensive tempo.
Practice Highlights ...
? The media availability period (final 20 minutes) started with a 7-on-7 segment for the first and second teams that started from the offense's own 25-yard line and ended around midfield. The linemen conducted 1-on-1's in the north end zone.
? Travis Wilson found Dres Anderson on a deep post pattern as well on a nice `go' route down the right sideline.
? Defensive back Justin Thomas had a pass breakup.
? The wide receivers and quarterbacks finished practice by working from the 10-yard line on fade and stop routes in the end zone.
From Coach Whittingham ...
? Reiterated that the team was excited to face Fresno State and was always up for a challenge.
? The team continued to shore up assignments in run defense.
? Praised Dominique Hatfield's versatility and that he has been primarily working as a defensive back.

? The wide receiver tandem of Anderson and Kenneth Scott discussed their nicknames: Anderson as the `Red Rocket' and Scott as the `Dark Knight.' Scott revealed that sophomore guard Isaac Asiata may have been responsible for popularizing his nickname.
