From Coach Whittingham ...
• No major changes on latest depth chart. Travis Wilson is our quarterback and we're still waiting on a few receivers so we'll see what happens in the next few days.
• The players are sensing the first game is getting closer. In essence, it's game week No. 1 and we're having two game weeks in our preparation.
• It's all scout team now with very little crossover between offense and defense. Both sides of the ball are honing in on what they expect to see [next Thursday night].
• Cohesion on the team has been very good.
• This game against Michigan has had the team's attention since way back in late December [after the Las Vegas Bowl victory over Colorado State].
• Our players are excited to open the season at home against Michigan, it's a great opportunity that will draw a lot of national attention.
• In preparing for Michigan, will focus on matchups personnel-wise. The Wolverines' schemes will be different all across the board [compared to last season].
• Last spring, each individual player listed their goals for team during the upcoming season and the coaching staff tabulated the top six or seven and keeps that list in front of the group.
• Hoping to build upon last season.
• Feels like the team is more equipped than ever before to accomplish their goals, but they still have to go out and make plays.
• Devontae Booker will carry the ball as many times as it takes to get a win.
• The positive of all the media attention is that it gets your name out in front of recruits. This game is drawing national attention and the more familiarity your recruits can have with your program, the better. But we don't prepare any different.
• Sam Tevi has really warmed up to the change from defensive line to offensive line and has earned the starting spot at left tackle.

Impressions form the Utah Players ...
Wide Receiver Tyrone Smith
• His work ethic has helped him improve his route-running and technique.
• Has become more of a student of the game.
• His quickness has helped him grab the attention of the coaches.
• Working on his vertical game, winning jump balls.
• Took a lot of time to learn the offense. It took most of spring practice for him to pick up the offense, where he struggled a lot, but picked up in the summer.
• Michigan has great cornerbacks, they like to play press coverage.
• They have big defensive linemen and big defensive backs.
• They have a lot of speed as well, so he'll have to use his technique against them.
• Kenneth Scott is really consistent and can jump really well even after his injury.
Cornerback Cory Butler-Byrd
• Happy to be permanently at cornerback.
• Still has a lot of learning to do, but wants to continue to make big plays.
• After sitting down with Wide Receivers Coach Taylor Stubblefield, he is excited to have a chance to make a lot of big plays in the kickoff return game as well.
• Kenneth Scott is a difficult guy to cover just because of his experience, size, hands, etc.
• Once he is on the field playing, he tries to tune out the crowd and the atmosphere. It's going to be hard with the MUSS going crazy, but he just has to calm himself down, embrace it and play his game.
#MICHvsUTAH BTS ...
