Utes sophomore takes consolation singles title
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Utah's Dan Little captured the consolation singles title at the ITA Mountain Regionals this afternoon with a 5-7, 6-1, 11-9 victory over Pedro Fernandez Del Valle of Denver.
After losing his first match of the tournament on Wednesday to another player from UD in three sets, Little responded with a fantastic run through the consolation bracket. After winning four matches in two days, Little won a three-set matchup against Utah State's Kris Van Wyk, 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 to reach today's final.
