Albuquerque, NM. - The 53rd ranked University of Utah men's tennis team (11-1) hits the road this weekend for three matches. The Utes will face New Mexico (3-10) on Friday before tangling with DePaul (3-6) and New Mexico State (2-6) on Saturday in Albuquerque, N. M. Utah is 1-0 on the road and 2-0 in neutral site matches this season.
New Mexico
The New Mexico Lobos (3-10) will host the Utes on Friday, February 26 at 6 p.m. MT at the Mckinnon Family Tennis Stadium. New Mexico returns after 13 games away from Albuquerque to host its first match of the season. The Lobos are coming off a 6-1 loss to Penn and a 4-0 victory over Monmouth on the road. The tandem of junior Hayden Sabatka and sophomore Bart Van Leijsen is ranked No. 16 in the ITA Doubles Rankings. Sabataka is also ranked No. 39 with junior Rodolfo Jauregui. Last year, Utah defeated the 67th ranked Lobos in Albuquerque, 4-3.
DePaul
The DePaul Blue Demons (3-6) will contest Utah in a neutral site match on Saturday, February 27 at 11 a.m. MT.. DePaul is coming off a 4-3 conference win against Georgetown, 4-3. Utah last faced the Blue Demons in 2014, securing a 7-0 neutral site victory.
New Mexico State
The New Mexico State Aggies (2-6) will play Utah at 4 p.m. MT on Saturday for the first time since 2010. The Aggies lost their first four matches of the season, but have won two out of their last four matches, including a 4-3 win versus Weber State. No. 69 Arizona handed the Aggies their first loss of this season, 7-0. The Utes secured a 4-3 home victory the last time the teams met.
