Utah Golf Finishes in 15th Place at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

Final Results CHANDLER, Ariz. - The Utah men's golf team finished in 15th-place after carding a final round 14-over par at the Whirlwind Golf Club. Utah ended the 54-hole tournament at 15-over par (286-291-302=879).
Senior Jonathon Thomas finished in a tie for 45th-place to lead all Ute golfers. Thomas carded a final round 5-over par (77) to end with a two-day score of 4-over par (68-75-77=220). Senior Brandon Kida shot a final round 6-over par (78) to finish in a tie for 52nd-place at 5-over par (71-72-78=221).
Senior Steven Croft and freshman Nathan Wunderli ended in tie for 62nd-place at 7-over par. Croft (74-70-79=223) carded a final round 7-over par (79) and Wunderli (76-74-73=223) recorded a final round 1-over par (73).
Rounding out Utah's team total, junior Gentry Hicks carded 2-over par (74) in the final to round to finish in a tie for 66th-place with a score of 8-over par (73-77-74=226).
Playing as an individual in the tournament, freshman Trent Hill carded a final round 7-over par (79) to finish in a tie for 72nd-place with a score of 9-over par (73-73-79=225).
Colorado took home the team title on Tuesday after shooting a final round 7-under par to finish the event at 21-under par (290-272-281=843). Sam Houston State (-13) finished in second place, Wyoming (-12) followed in third place, William and Mary (-3) placed fourth, while Western Kentucky (-2) and UC Santa Barbara tied for fifth place.
Utah State (+1), Wichita State (+5), Gonzaga (+6), Arizona (+7), Grand Canyon (+9), Idaho (+11), Air Force (+11), and Weber State (+12) finished ahead of the Utes, while Houston Baptist (+22), CSU-Northridge (+24), Southern Utah (+25) and San Francisco (+25) followed.
Utah will compete next week in the BYU Cougar Classic on April 11-12. The event will be held at the Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah.
