Ute kicker is preseason Special Teams Player of the Year
SALT LAKE CITY—Phil Steele has named Utah senior kicker Andy Phillips to its 2016 Preseason All-America first team and also projects Phillips as the 2016 Special Teams Player of the Year. Utah junior defensive tackle Lowell Lotuelei made Phil Steele's preseason All-America second team.

The annual football publication also released its preseason conference forecast and predicts Utah will finish third in the Pac-12 South Division behind UCLA and USC. Making Phil Steele's preseason all-Pac-12 first team were Phillips, Lotuleli and junior defensive end Kylie Fitts. Named to the second team were senior offensive guard Isaac Asiata, senior offensive tackle J.J. Dielman, senior defensive end Hunter Dimick, junior safety Marcus Williams and senior snapper Chase Dominguez.

Also announcing its 2016 all-conference preseason team was Athlon, which named Phillips, Lotulelei, Fitts, Dielman and Williams to its first team and Asiata and Dimick to its second team.
