PHILADELPHIA--Utah junior defensive tackle Lowell Lotulelei and senior defensive end Kylie Fitts have been named to the watch list for the Bednarik Award, presented to the College Defensive Player of the Year by the Maxwell Football Club.

Lotulelei was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection as a sophomore last year after earning honorable mention all-conference and Freshman All-America honors his freshman season. His 26 tackles in 2015 included five tackles for loss (1 sack) and he also had a pass breakup and a forced fumble. Since his true freshman season, Lotulelei has played in all 26 games with 18 starts.

In first season playing for Utah as a redshirt junior in 2015, Fitts led the Pac-12 and tied for ninth in the nation in forced fumbles with four. He tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in both sacks (7.0) and pass breakups (10), while leading Utah in the former and finishing second in the latter. He had 41 total tackles (8.0 tackles for loss).

The winner of the Bednarik Award will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show held in December.
