SALT LAKE CITY—Freshman wide receiver Tyquez Hampton from El Dorado High School in El Paso, Texas, has enrolled in classes at Utah, bringing the Utes' early signing class to three. Previously signing with the Utes were midyear junior college transfers Corrion Ballard, a safety from Humble, Texas (Blinn College), and Jordan Agasiva, an offensive lineman from Honolulu, Hawaii (Pima Community College).

Hampton, whose first name is pronounced ty-qwez, is a two-time All-District 1-6A selection, earning unanimous first-team honors as a senior when he had 74 receptions for 989 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns. As a junior, Hampton had 25 receptions for 562 yards and six touchdowns.

Born in Gainesville, Fla., Hampton helped lead El Dorado High School in Texas to two Division 1-6A championships. He played running back at Chapin HS as a sophomore and rushed for 475 yards. Hampton also played basketball and ran track in high school and was the 2016 district champion in the 200 and 4x100 relay.
