SALT LAKE CITY - The Utes are staying home this weekend for the second consecutive week, taking on #19/20 Washington State on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. MT. The Cougars are the second Top 25 team the Utes have faced this season.Â

Veterans Day:Â
• Saturday is Veterans Day and among the veterans honored at the game will be former Ute and NFL running back Mike Anderson. Anderson, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years before college, was a two-time first-team all-conference pick at Utah and the 2000 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with the Denver Broncos.
• The Utes will wear a commemorative Veterans Day logo on their warmups and Veterans Day apparel will be available for public purchase at the Utah Red Zone at http://www.uredzone.com/Utah-Utes/Promotions/Utes-Celebrate-Veterans-Game?aff=athlvet. See Game Day Activities for more.

• Corrion Ballard will replace injured free safety Marquise Blair on Saturday. Philip Afia will be the backup at both safety positions.Â
• Paul Toala is the lone Washington native on Utah's 2017 roster. Toala played both guard and center in last week's win over UCLA.Â
• Cody Ippolito, who has switched from linebacker to fullback, scored his first career touchdown against UCLA.Â
• Matt Gay was named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award, given to the best placekicker in college football.Â

A: I don't know, there were a lot of things. I was a pretty weird child. I used to be able to swallow things and then bring them back up whole. Then this one time, on a cruise, I tried to swallow a cherry whole and it went wrong and my cousin had to save my life.
Q: Favorite moment at Utah so far?
A: Oh definitely my touchdown against UCLA.Â

"Practices have gone really well this week. Today was our first day in pads this week. Same M.O. as the rest of the year, working hard. This is going to be a big challenge this Saturday. Another Top 20 football team coming in here, they are solid in all three phases and we have our work cut out for us."
Defensive Coordinator Morgan Scalley on the lack of sacks this season...
"You know it is a combination of things. Ultimately, it is our job to find a way to get pressure on the quarterback. Before the Oregon game, even without the sacks, we were playing better rush defense than last year, but then Oregon just tipped the scale. For the most part though I feel like we are doing a good job, we just as a staff have to find out more ways to get pressure on the quarterback."
Running Backs Coach Kiel McDonald on Zack Moss' production...
"Everything is earned and nothing is given. He is just continuing to come out here and work and develop to get better. He is on that steady progression of getting better each and every day. He is doing the things he needs to do to become the football player that he wants to become."
