SAN FRANCISCO—Utah swept the first-team kicking awards in the voting for the All-Pac-12 Conference football teams, with junior punter Mitch Wishnowsky repeating as a first-team selection and junior kicker Matt Gay making the top team in his first season. The All-Pac-12 teams are selected by the league's head coaches.
 
Named to the All-Pac-12 second team were senior receiver Darren Carrington II, senior offensive lineman Salesi Uhatafe, sophomore cornerback Julian Blackmon and senior return specialist Boobie Hobbs. Honorable mention Utes were senior defensive linemen Lowell Lotulelei and Filipo Mokofisi, senior linebacker Kavika Luafatasaga and senior offensive lineman Lo Falemaka.
 
Wishnowsky has made the All-Pac-12 first team both seasons at Utah and is a two-time Ray Guy Award finalist. He won the 2016 Ray Guy Award and was a unanimous consensus All-American. This year, he ranks second in the nation in percentage of punts inside the 10 (21.74%) and second in the Pac-12 (sixth in the country) in net punting (42.20).
 
Gay, a Lou Groza Award finalist in his first season of NCAA football, leads the nation in most major kicking categories, including field goals made (a school-record 27), field goals per game (2.25), field goal attempts (31) and 50-yard field goals (5). He has made 87-percent of his field goal attempts, which leads the Pac-12.
 
Both Wishnowsky and Gay will attend the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 7 in Atlanta.
 
Carrington is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference second-team selection, having also made the team in 2015 while playing for Oregon. Carrington ranks second in the Pac-12 in receiving yards per game (83.5) and leads Utah in receptions (66), yards (918) and touchdowns (6). Uhatafe, a four-year starter, has started all 12 games at left guard this season and has five cuts and 814 snaps recorded. Blackmon leads Utah in passes defended (8) and is tied for the team lead in interceptions (2) and pass breakups (6). Hobbs leads the Pac-12 and is tied for ninth in the nation in punt returns (23) and his 10.7 punt return average ranks third in the Pac-12 and 16th in the nation.
 
Lotulelei, a four-time All-Pac-12 selection, is honorable mention for the third time. He made the first team as a sophomore. Mokofisi is honorable mention for the second year in a row, while Luafatasaga and Falemaka are making their first appearance on the All-Pac-12 team.
