SALT LAKE CITY – Four Utah Utes earned honorable mention all-academic from the Pac-12 Conference, commissioner Larry Scott announced.
Sophomore point guard
Erika Bean, redshirt senior wing
Paige Crozon, redshirt junior forward
Emily Potter and redshirt junior
Malia Nawahine all earned a nod from the conference for their academic success.
Bean has played in every game for the Utes so far in her career and is interested in studying sports medicine. She leads the team with 5.5 assists per game while pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game and scoring 4.2 points per contest.
Crozon is team's only senior and has started every game this season for Utah. She will graduate with a double degree in health promotion and education and business in May. Crozon is a three-time all-academic honoree while tallying 44 double-figure scoring games.
Potter has also started every game for the Utes this year while leading the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game and rebounding with 8.2 boards per game. She is majoring in marketing at Utah and is a two-time all-academic recipient.
Nawahine earned consecutive all-academic honors while averaging 10.5 points per game, good for second on the team. She has started all but three games for the Utes this season and is second on the team with 57 assists.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
