First Round of ITA Regional Opponents Set for Utes

LAS VEGAS –After the qualifying round on the first day of action at the ITA Regional Tournament, the Utes now have their first-round opponents for singles and doubles. Tomorrow's action will start with the first round of doubles play at 10am MT, followed by the first round of singles, second round of singles and consolation singles.

Coming in at the second seeded position in the ITA Regionals double's bracket, Randy Cory and Russel Benkaim are set to match up against BYU's Mateo Vereau Melendez and Vinicius Feijao Nogueira. At the No. 4 seed, Dan Little and Azat Hankuliyev will be facing off against Kyle Pease and Tommy Smalley of Northern Colorado. David Micevski and Slava Shainyan will then face the No. 6 seed Sam Tullis and Ben Gajardo from BYU.

Then in singles, Dan Little is coming in at the No. 1 seed, as he is set to play Mateo Vereau from BYU. At the No. 3 seed, David Micevski will match up against Enrique Asmar from New Mexico State.

Randy Cory is then set to face off against Clayton Alenik from UNLV, followed by Slava Shainyan playing against Daniel Dudockin of Nevada. Russell Benkaim will then match up against No. 2 seed Ricky Hernandez-Tong of New Mexico.
