SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah football program is set for another week on the road as they prepare to take on Stanford on Saturday, Oct. 6. The game is set for an 8:30 p.m. MT kick on ESPN.Â

Head coach Kyle Whittingham, running back Zack Moss and safety Corrion Ballard sat down with Bill Riley today for the ESPN 700 Smith's Coach's Show today to talk Stanford and how the season is going.Â
With another game on the way, another uniform unveil was revealed this week with the Utes heading to Stanford with red helmets, white jerseys and red pants.Â

It has been no secret that Utah's defense has been key this season with the group ranking in the top-five in the nation in rushing defense and total defense.Â
Gary Andersen on the defensive line this season…
"I think we have a good rotation right now and I think those kids are playing extremely hard on the inside. Lewis Powell is doing a great job with those defensive ends and we've gotten a lot of production. You always want more production as far as tackles and we've got nine sacks, and we would like to get 30 sacks on the year, so we have to get a few more. I think we are heading in the right direction though as a whole."
Voices from Practice: Tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham
On the young tight ends and how he feels they are coming along…
"I am really pleased with their progress. We have two freshmen in Cole Fotheringham, a returned missionary, and true freshman Brant Kuithe. They are different kinds of guys though. Cole is more of a traditional, in-line tight end. He is a very good blocker and very smooth with his route running. Brant brings a lot of athleticism. He can really run. He is not as big, but when you put him in that two tight end set, he is the wing and we can move and flex out with that option. He has incredible ball skills down field. Both of them work hard in all aspects like the weight room, the film room and in meetings. They both respect the process and do all of the little things right."
On how they felt as an offensive staff coming out of the Washington State game…
"Feeling like we didn't finish. Penalties, whatever the case may be, we have to score another touchdown. I don't think you beat a Washington State team without scoring 30 or more points. So while I felt we made progress as an offense, I don't feel we finished when we needed to finish."

- Chase Hansen and Cody Barton both have two double-digit tackle games this season.Â
- Jackson Barton leads the offensive line in snaps played (290).Â
- Zack Moss's 30 carries against Washington State was a career-high.Â
- Corrion Ballard's interception against Washington State was the third of his career at Utah.
