SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah football program is on the backend of a two-game road swing, taking on the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday, Nov. 3 after dominating UCLA in L.A. last week 41-10.Â

The first College Football Playoff poll came out today, revealing the Utes in the No. 15 position. The Utes also jumped seven positions to rank No. 16 in the AP and coaches polls.Â

With newly cemented spots in the polls, the Utes got some extra love in the form of the Jim Rome Show. Cody Barton was the guest on today's show. Fans can listen in here:Â

The game against UCLA had several highlights, one being the performance of standout running back Zack Moss. Moss rushed for a career-high 211 yards and three touchdowns against the Bruins. He was the first Ute since 2016 to have 200-plus yards in a game and the first time since 2016 that a Ute has score three-or-more touchdowns.Â
Kyle Whittingham on if he considers Zack Moss an "old school" running back with his style…
"He is. He is a guy that you can feed him the ball as much as you want. He likes to mix it up and carry the ball and run it between the tackles. He is kind of an old school kind of guy."

Heading into Saturday, the Utes are trailing in the all-time series against Arizona State, 21-8. Prior to the game last year, the Utes had a two-game winning streak on the Sun Devils while holding a 4-7 record in Salt Lake City.Â

On his reaction when Herm Edwards got hired…
"He is a heck of a football coach and I've gotten to know him over the last four or five years. He is a great guy, a smart guy. Very charismatic. He has a big personality. It was surprising, but not like, what are they doing, it was like wow good hire."
On Arizona State's close games this season…
"I can't speak to if they are inspired or not because you can't see that on tape, but they are playing well. I think they are having a better season than anyone anticipated so this is going to be a big test for us. Traditionally since we got into this conference, ASU has been a tough match up for us."
On the match up against Arizona State wide receiver N'Keal Harry…
"He is a difficult match up. He is a big kid, 6-4, 220-plus, but it is great to have confident corners. You have to mix it up and you can't do one thing the entire game against a guy like that. So, we are going to have some answers to him."

On how the offense has progressed this season…
"Each and every day we are trying to get better, one blade of grass at a time. We are just grinding and trying to be able to put out the best product that we can.
On Zack Moss…
"He is a tough grinder guy. He is very physical. He is the type of guy that wants to be counted on when the game is on the line and when it matters most."
On what it has been like to coach Zack Moss…
"It has been a pleasant surprise. He is the kind of young man that is constantly getting better. He works hard and studies the film. He knows how to get on the board and he is an incredible athlete. It has been a pleasure to see him continuing to get better week-in and week-out."
Cornerbacks Coach Sharrieff Shah
On N'Keal Harry…
"Big challenge. He will be hard to guard just like last year. Every team that has faced him has had the same issues. He may not go off for multiple catches, but he is so dangerous because he is such a big target. He has outstanding hands, big catch radius. He can do things in the air, but he can also abuse you at the line of scrimmage, so you have to be able to utilize a number of tools when you go against player like Harry. You have to be ready because you know that he is going to make a play."
On how he feels Jaylon Johnson and Julian Blackmon have played this year…
"So much better than last year. They are smarter football players and taking intelligent risks. They have both become better tacklers, which has helped us in so many aspects statistically that most people don't appreciate. Everyone sees when a corner misses a tackle because the gain is so massive, but when we make the tackles that we make on the edge, it really puts the offensive unit in a bad position. I love that they are trying to become masters of their technique."
On the warm-up he puts the players through before games…
"It is part of the same warm-up we do at practice because it shouldn't be different. I want to see certain things done in the game. For years, I have started to see the translation of those techniques that we did in warm-up show up in the first quarter, in the second quarter and then in the second half. So for us, you try to keep your ball players not to high and not to low, as much as you can make the game just a normal atmosphere, you see tremendous benefits."
