Opening Statement...
"It is crazy that season is gearing up to be over. It is kind of the calm before the storm. Looking at the next month ahead is really what it is all about. All of the offseason stuff that you do, it is coming down to post-season and its crazy. We have six regular season games left, the Pac-12 Tournament and then post-season, so just reflecting today it has gone by really fast. It is crazy to think that in three weeks we will be in Seattle for the Pac-12 Tournament. We are coming off of a solid week. We had a really tough loss here against Colorado, but we moved on, bounced back and got a really solid road win on Sunday. We got this week down to the Bay Area. We only play these guys once, so we played Stanford on Friday and at Cal on Sunday. Obviously, every week brings its own unique and steep challenges and this weekend is no different. We are looking forward to that challenge and getting back on the road with this group. We aren't taking anything for granted. We are only guaranteed six more regular season games, so we have to make each one count and enjoy the journey."
On how the Utah men have set a goal to finish in the top-four in the Pac-12 and if they have a similar goal...
"I haven't looked much at the men's standings, but ours is pretty clumped. So we have Stanford, Oregon and UCLA all at 10-2, Oregon State and Arizona State at 8-4 and then you have us and Cal at 6-6. So, right now we are just going one at a time. I think the seeding in the Pac-12 Tournament will be important. I am really trying to not think about that too much. We have a big challenge in front of us this week and we have just been taking it week-by-week and seeing where it all falls at the end."
On what she thinks was the biggest difference between the two Colorado games...
"The attention to detail. I was ticked off that we had lost at home, and so was the team. Friday, we didn't practice but we watched the entire game frame-by-frame. The players saw it and I think it ticked them off even more, so there was just more attention to detail. Colorado is also better than their record too. Both games that they played us I was impressed with how they played. They shot the ball well both times and that is why it is a rivalry. Both teams wanted to beat each other badly and I think both games we got their best shot. Sunday we were down four going into the fourth quarter and just had a will to win again. We made shots. We shot something like 60-percent in that fourth quarter. We just made baskets and our kids wanted to win. But their was an attention to detail that put us in that position. Playing at Colorado, if we would have played with the lack of focus that we did at home, we wouldn't have had a chance to win that game on the road. So, I was proud of our team for that. They came back and fought and had that will to win. Everybody did their part, which is good."
On what it is about the road games that is helping them be successful...
"We are 5-0 on the road and 1-6 at home, which is completely backwards and frustrating. We have played some really good teams at home, but everybody in this league is good. I don't know what it is, I wish I knew because we would bottle it up and bring it back here. The players were joking with me at the airport when we were flying out of Denver on Sunday that maybe we should stay at a hotel here in Salt Lake next time we play at home and recreate the road vibe. If it didn't cost money, I would do it, that's not a bad idea. So, I don't know what it is. We have four road games left out of our six, so maybe we are better on the road."
