Utah opens Pac-12 play at No. 9 Arizona. The Utes and Wildcats will start a three-game set on Friday evening at 7 p.m. AT with all the contests televised on the Pac-12 Networks.

DONOVAN CLIMBING CAREER CHARTS
With four wins last weekend,
Katie Donovan now has 64 for her career, matching Michele Townsend for fourth place in Utah history. She needs five more W's to catch Janet Womack in the record book.
Donovan also struck out 31 batters, surpassing Generra Nelson and Womack for third place in Utah history. The senior needs 77 more strikeouts to catch Kristen Arbogast for second place.
Finally, her four appearances last weekend also moved Donovan past Ali Andrus for third most by a Ute hurler.
MARYLAND INVITATIONAL RECAP
The Utes won all five games last weekend at the Maryland Invitational that included two games against the host Terrapins and one contest each with Miami (OH), Yale and Jacksonville.

Katie Donovan and
Miranda Viramontes both recorded career highs with 10 strikeouts apiece. Donovan K'd 10 Terps in six innings on Saturday before Viramontes whiffed 10 Jacksonville batters in five innings on Sunday. As a staff, Utah stuck out 53 batters in 33 innings over the five games.Â
Hailey Hilburn paced the Utes with a .533 batting average (8-for-15) and scored six runs. Freshman
Alyssa Palacios, who entered the weekend with just one RBI, led Utah with five.
Kelly Martinez smashed a pair of homers and slugged 1.000 while batting .467 (7-for-15).

UTAH VS. ARIZONA REWIND
Utah took two of three from the No. 1 ranked and undefeated 'Cats last season in Salt Lake City as
Bridget Castro hit .556 and
Delilah Pacheco scored three times while batting .400 for the Utes.
Miranda Viramontes won a pair of games, allowing just two earned runs in 10 2/3 innings.Â
Utah is just 1-8 in Tucson since joining the Pac-12 with the only victory occurring the last time here in 2016. The Wildcats have been ranked in the Top 20 nationally every time these two teams have played.
2017 UTE REVIEW
Utah finished 37-16 last year, its best record since 1997. It also had its best mark in Pac-12 play (13-9) since joining the conference in 2012.
The Utes reached the postseason for a 21st time and qualified for the NCAA Tournament in a third-straight year, a program first. Utah also advanced to a second-straight NCAA Super Regional and hosted a NCAA Regional for the first time
Utah finished last season ranked 18th nationally in scoring at 5.9 runs per contest and team batting average (.318). Defensively, it led the league and ranked second nationally with 32 double plays turned
The five players selected to the first and second Pac-12 all-conference teams in 2017 were the most for Utah since it joined the Pac-12.Â
