SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women's cross country team released its 2018 schedule today, head coach
Kyle Kepler announced. The Utes will compete in six regular season meets in preparation of the 2018 Pac-12 Championships, which will take place in Palo Alto, Calif.
Utah will open the season at the Sagebrush Invitational on Sept. 1, in Logan. The Utes then travel north to Twin Falls, Idaho, to compete in the College of Southern Idaho Invitational, which takes place that next week on Sept. 7. Utah then makes the quick trip down to Provo to compete in the BYU Autumn Classic on Sept. 15, before rounding out the month in Boston, Mass., at the Battle in Beantown.
The Utes will once again head back to Logan to run in the Steve T. Reeder Invitational on Oct. 6, before wrapping up the regular season with competition at the Penn State National in State College, Pa., on Oct. 12.
For a second straight year, the Pac-12 Network will broadcast the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships live, showcasing once again one of the top meets in the nation. Stanford University will host the women's championships, with the meet scheduled for Oct. 26.
"This schedule provides our team both the necessary opportunities and challenges required to properly prepare for another successful season," said Kepler. "After missing the NCAA Championships – a 31 team field by one spot last year – we will aim to return to that level in 2018. As always, we will need to stay healthy and race together as much as possible to reach that particular goal."
