TEMPE – The University of Utah men's tennis program landed five student-athletes on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list with the team also garnering ITA All-Academic recognition, it was announced today.Â

Slava Shainyan,
Santiago Sierra,
Egbert Weverink and
Joe Woolley all earned Scholar-Athlete honors today, highlighting an outstanding year in the classroom and on the court. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have at least a 3.50 GPA for the current academic year and must be at the institution for two semesters.Â
To be honored as a team, the squad must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above and all varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative total for the current academic year.Â
Weverink and Sierra are both earning their third-career Scholar-Athlete honors with Shainyan and Micevski both landing on the list in 2017 as well.
Joe Woolley is receiving his first-career ITA Scholar-Athlete Award while all five athletes earned spots on the Pac-12 All-Academic Team this past season.Â
