SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's golf team has a competitive schedule lined up for the 2018-19 campaign.
"This year we have an exceptionally strong schedule," head coach
Garrett Clegg said. "It will be great for our golf program to compete with and against the best teams in college golf. We have 11 regular season events from the Gopher Invitational in Minnesota, to the Amer Ari in Hawaii. We will be competing on two former U.S. Open courses, Erin Hills, and Chambers Bay. It's a great time to be a member of the men's golf program!"
The schedule begins in the fall with five tournaments through September, October and November. The Utes will host the Showdown in the Rockies at the Huntsman Springs Golf Course in Driggs, Idaho. Also highlighted is the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, held at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin, which was the site of the 2017 U.S. Open Championship. Utah will also compete in tournaments in Minnesota (Gopher Invitational, Windsong Farm), Colorado (Mark Simpson Collegiate, Colorado National) and California (St. Mary's Invitational, Poppy Hills) during the fall.
Utah opens its spring campaign in Hawaii at the Amer Ari Invitational on the Waikoloa Kings Course in February followed by The Prestige at PGA West, held at the Greg Norman Course in Laquinta, Calif. Both events have historically featured some of the top teams in college golf. In March the Utes play at the Bandon Dunes Championship (Bandon, Oregon) and the NIT Championship (Tucson, Arizona, Omni National). Chambers Bay, site of the Redhawks Invitational in April, hosted the 2015 U.S. Open. Utah closes out the regular season with the ASU Thunderbird Invitational (Papago Golf Course) before the Pac-12 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from April 22-24.
