SALT LAKE CITY – Several Utah golfers have been playing in tournaments in the area during the summer.
Rising senior Kyler Dunkle qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship (Aug. 13-19 at Pebble Beach) by finishing third at U.S. Amateur Qualifying in Fort Collins, Colo. He shot 67-67 (-6) at the tournament. Dunkle also finished second at the Utah State Amateur in June.
Rising junior Mitchell Schow won the Harris Air Western Amateur with redshirt freshman teammate Colton Tanner tying for second.
Rising junior Jordan Costello won the Wyoming Men's State Amateur Championship with scores of 70-73-67 (-6).
Rising sophomore Blake Tomlinson reached the semifinal round of the Utah State Amateur.
